About us
TfL is a concept devised and developed by Ken Howgill. Ken has spent most of his working life in the public and private sector working as a learning and development consultant and a specialist in career development.
A short biography
After completing a Combined honours degree in 1982 he embarked on a career as a careers adviser. He re-trained as teacher in 1992 and then worked as an Advisory Teacher for Wiltshire County Council and as a Consultant for the private educational services provider, Nord Anglia Education. He also worked as a Consultant Tutor for Bath Spa University, developing professional development programmes for teachers up to Masters degree level.
From 2001 Ken worked for VT Education and Skills in a senior learning and development role building a Partnership to deliver advice and information for adults in Kent and Medway. This included managing a Workforce Development project in partnership with the Kent and Medway NHS Trusts. During this time he established a partnership with the Open University and Open College Network South East Region to develop an accredited "blended" learning programme for learning advisers in the NHS.
More recently he has worked as an adult educator, managing and developing community based approaches to adult learning. He currently works as an External Examiner for the National Open College Network (NOCN) and part-time Quality Reviewer for the Open College Network - South East Region. Ken is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. He has published articles and learning resources for a range of audiences including schools and colleges as well as professional development packs for adult learners.

Mission Statement
To provide the corporate and education sectors with a resource to enhance the learning experiences of employers, employees, volunteers, students and others engaged in the learning and development process. TfL aims to be at the leading edge of learning and development tools and techniques.
Objectives of TfL:
- To promote the TfL package to as many organisations as possible, share good practice and secure the further development of TfL in the UK and internationally;
- To enhance the learning experiences of people participating in:
- organised training sessions,
- taught programmes of learning,
- To make this facility available to charitable and not for profit organisations at a reduced cost wherever possible;
- To donate a percentage of all profits to educational charities and support the voluntary & community sector.
